Not 3.8 lbs

I just picked up an Ogio Nebula. I'm coming off a Sun Mountain 3.5 SuperLight from 2009. The SM has been good to me, but the support that runs up the spine keeps breaking and the right shoulder strap is starting to fall apart.

Weight (3 out of 5):
First and foremost, it seems Ogio has an issue with their scales. Their website claims the bag is 3.8 lbs. My bag was almost a pound heavier. I'm going to send them an email. Maybe I got a heavy bag that got by QC.

Functionality: (5 out of 5):
One of the major selling points is the amount of room in the Nebula. The full length are nice, and the club management just plain works. There seems to be a little less bag chatter with the Nebula than with my old SM.

The valuables pocket has a sleeve just for your cellphone. This is a huge plus. It keeps the screen from being scratched from other things you might put in the pocket.

I play with a range finder. The Nebula has a little sleeve specifically for your range finder. I have the old Pin Seeker 1500, which is about the biggest range finder you'd find these days. It's by the water bottle so you get access to without taking the bag off: awesome. I love not having to get into a zippered pocket to get to something I use multiple times per hole. Well done Ogio.

There is massive amounts of room in the bag. Probably more than I need. How ever the space would be nice if someone wants to use it as a cart bag.

There are a few things the engineers missed. First I think the elastic band for the towel is cool as long as it holds up. Even so, I wish they left a plastic ring to clip a cleaning brush to. The rubber lined drink pocket is a major upgrade from the old SM. However, you can't fit Nalgene sized bottles in the drink sleeve. I'm used to not being able to bring one of these bottles and they absolutely not worth the weight, but you think the bags of today would accommodate them..

Quality and Styling (4 out of 5):
Overall the fit and finish of the bag is outstanding. It looks really good and just flows. The only thing I can pick at is the rain cover that looks like it came from a lesser bag. My old SM rain cover was made from the same material as the bag, but the Ogio's is not. Bummer...

Overall (4 out of 5):
If this bag weighed what Ogio advertised, this would be a no-brainer 5 star bag. This bag has such ample storage, I'd gladly give some up to cut out some of the poundage. I really wish I could compare it to the Ogio Nimbus. It looks like another great bag that has a better chance of being lighter.
